Share your experience related to the challenge of gender identity as a student, as an educator, or as a professional

I have never experienced issues related to my gender identity. My line of work has exposed to me see the struggles of the gender minority people. I have managed a client who attempted suicide because when she came out to the family she was punished and sent to rehab because the parents have strong conservative values. the parents forced her to either conform with the birth gender or risk being cut off from the family inheritance. The pressure pushed the person to attempt suicide. although the suicide attempt was not completed I am sure if the parents didn’t back off or reduce the pressure. The client might not be so lucky again.
